Wherever possible, the original finish is cleaned and revived, while retaining the aged patina. However, often surfaces have been badly damaged and broken carcasses and veneers replaced with new timber. These are coloured to match and the piece finished according to its historic period.

The missing veneers and inlay having been replaced, the new timber was bleached and coloured to match and given a French polish finish.
